[Influenster Product Review] Veet Easy Wax Electrical Roll-On Kit

Hey Beautifuls!
I’ve really been slacking on getting this post out, thank you Reeni for covering for me! I just got busy, but finally here it is.
So if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you know I received the Veet Easy Wax Kit a few weeks ago from Influenster.
Now I've tried tons of hair removal products since I started puberty, which was such a young fragile age. I was not blessed with hairless-ness like my mother *sigh*
why did that gene skip me!? (T ^ T)
On my road to trail and error I've tried women’s and men’s razors, electric razors, hair removal creams, salon waxes, at home waxes, pre-wax strips, home made sugar wax, epilators, even tweezing. Let’s just say I'm pretty experienced in this field without being a professional LOL
When the chance came to try this wax kit, you bet I jump on it like baby cheetah on its first kill. LOL too dark? (#^.^#)

My Opinion/Review: Taking a look at all the goodies that came with this kit, I was just so excited! o(^^)o
I was reading some comments and reviews about this kit and a lot of people said it’s too expensive. Personally at the expense of going to a salon VS this kit and how many times you can use it, I think it’s well worth the price.
Self Heating Device?
Okay is it just me but the first thought in my mind was this looks a lot like deodorant ha-ha!
Like a deodorant packaging the top pops off. Although there are times were I have trouble taking off the top, but I’m sure with constant use it will loosen up.
The inside of this device is the heating mechanism. On each side there are metal plates that heats up the product (A.K.A the wax). I’ve never had it heat up too hot were it can be dangerous, though I wouldn’t leave it unattended with children around.
On the side of the device is a port to plug in your electrical cable, once plugged in to the port and an outlet, the device turns on and begins melting/heating up the wax. You know this device is on when the Veet logo, on the front lower portion of the device glows red.
There is no on and off switch or even temperature control, it’s a simple plug and go. Depending who you are you make like it or be annoyed you can’t control it. I do have to point out I like where the port is located. You can the leave it plugged in to keep the wax warm and the base won’t affect it, its also low enough it’s not the way. But I think this device would be better if you had a on and off switch where you don’t have to have it plugged in to be on. Just because the actual cord can be in the way and can end up getting tangled.
The self heating device is about 6½in. tall (with cap on), 3in. wide, and about 1½in. thick.
Base?
I love that this kit came with a base, it super handy for just a plastic mold. Could you image if it didn’t, laying the device on its side watching the wax spill out. Talk about messy!
Electrical Cable?
The cord of this cable is 63¼in. approximately over 5ft. definitely long enough for anyone to maneuver with.
Roll-On Wax Refill?
There are 2 types of refills you can get with this kit. One for the legs & body and one for the underarm & bikini area. The difference between them is the rolling heads. The legs & body rolling head is wider and the underarm & bikini head is much thinner.
In this kit I got the one for the legs & body.
Has you can see the wax is in a sort of thick plastic clear container. I was worried at first that the plastic container would melt, but to my surprise it didn’t, not even a little bit. On the top of the container is the rolling head where the wax comes out. I like how you roll on the wax, it doesn’t distribute too much or too little (unless it’s not heated up enough).
After a while of rolling the wax on there can be a build up of wax on the rolling head, and starts getting harder to roll. It’s easily fixed by cleaning the head with the finishing wipes.
Formula/Texture of Wax?
The formulation of the wax is quite different from any at home wax I’ve used. It isn’t as stringy and sticky as say the GiGi All Purpose Honee Microwave Wax Formula I normally use. It’s fine for less mess and rolls on to you smoothly; although the wax doesn’t grab all the hair. I would say about 5% of the hairs I just waxed is still chilling there un-removed. It can be very frustrating, especially because you are not supposed to wax the same spot twice. But LOL I did and I ended up hurting a spot of my leg. I got aggravated red bumps as a result. So let this be a lesson to you all no waxing the same spot twice in one sitting, even if it didn’t remove all the hair. Puck it out!
Can we talk about the color of this wax LOL IT’S PINK! The color is cute and new to waxes! Great strategy to captivate the consumer.
Non-Woven Strips?
I’ve only used muslin or cloth wax strips. These non-woven strips were new to me. It’s like a paper cloth hybrid, LOL I really don’t know how else to describe it.
Personally muslin is my first choice, but the non-woven strips are great. If I had an option to use them again I absolutely will.
Depending on you, you might want to cut the strips as I did. I felt that, for me, the strips were to long. But there are those who prefer it long. Again it depends on you.
In this kit you receive only 12 strips, which I find not nearly enough for how much wax you have. I believe they should have, at least 40 strips.
The non-woven strips are 8in. by 2¾in.
Finishing Wipes?
Oh My Gosh! o(≧▽≦)o these are the best finishing wipes I’ve ever tried. Seriously! No exaggerating here. The wipes really get excess wax off effortlessly. With one wipe I managed to use it on both legs (from ankle to thigh), little messes on my hands, and on the self heating device, and I’m sure I could of got my arms too if I decided to wax them that day.
The formulation on the wipes is an oil. I was expecting it to be like a wet wipe and very skeptical if it would even work. I can happily say I was wrong. If Veet just has the wipes for sale I would grab them in a second!
The finishing wipes when unraveled is 5⅜ by 5⅜ in.
Scent?
The only things that would have a scent are the wax and the finishing wipes. The wax smells weird, the best way I can describe it is that it smell like a new pair of shoes you just unboxed. However, the smell is very mild. I really had to put my nose in it to smell it, but then again I have bad allergies this time of year.
The finishing wipes smell like oil, and that’s it. Take a sniff of olive oil or cooking oil, it smells like that LOL
Ease of Use?
Yes! This kit is really easy to use. I think even beginners of at home waxing would love this kit.
Other?
There are a few things I want to share with you all for using this kit and overall tips for waxing in general.
Take a shower while it’s heating up, besides avoiding the boring task of waiting for the device to heat up you can remove all that dirt and oil and whatever else on you have on you to get a better waxing result, plus the warm water will help soften your pores for a less pain when waxing.
I know the instructions says to wait for 30 minutes for the wax to fully heat up, but its more like 45 minutes.
Leave it plugged in, even when waxing. Trust me it helps keep the wax from hardening and cooling, you will get a better consistent wax that way. Don’t be worried for it getting to hot, because it doesn’t, it keeps the wax at the perfect temperate without burning you.
● Do not wax the same spot twice. Like I stated above you don’t want to get aggravated red bumps. Trust me they aren’t cute.
● If you find your rolling head not rolling as smoothly has it use to, simply cleaning it with the finishing wipes to get rid of that excess wax build up.
That’s all I think of so far, but if you have any questions about this product or waxing in particular drop a comment below and I’ll be sure to respond as quickly has I can.
Bottom Line … Do I recommend this kit? I say yes. I think this a great concept! It’s an excellent kit for those branching out and wanting to wax at home rather than a salon. It’s really easy to use and virtually no mess. Though I hope Veet will rework the formulation of the wax to really grab hold of more hairs. Once they do I’m sure more people will love it, and I’ll probably give it a higher overall score.
