My Opinion/Review: I was so excited when I saw Kat Von D launched her own makeup collection in Sephora. I ♥ Kat Von D and I adore the tattoos she has done. I know for a fact the packaging design for her line won’t fall short of being beautiful and unique, just as she is, inside and out.
I know, I know, I’m super late hopping on the band wagon for this palette, but better late then never lol.
The one thing I wanna address about this palette is the price; I got it for $24.00 USD, which was the sale price, but it normally runs about 10.00 dollars more, which is $34.00 USD. You get 8 shades in this palette so it’s about, 4.25 each (divided from the regular sell price). That’s a pretty good price, right?
Appearance / Packaging?
The packaging on this baby is freaking cute! I love the design, and the feel on the palette it’s like a smooth rubber in a way. If you know what NARS packaging feels like then you know how the Kat Von D palettes are like.

Another upside to the packaging is the size; it’s really good for on the go use and it has a big ass mirror to check yourself in lol.
Pigmentation?
The pigmentation on these shadows is really nice, some stand out more than others, but there all are very beautiful looking. The best ways to wear these eyeshadows are on top of a primer, the shadows will definitely look a lot better.
Blendability?
All the eyeshadows, but two are really easy to blend; I have no complaints about them. However Benji and Lucifer isn’t the easiest to blend out. Benji is a dry cream, so I understand that it can be slightly difficult to blend the edges. The best way to apply Benji is to apply little layers at a time and building up the color from there, this also helps so it doesn’t look cakey or clumpy. Lucifer is a matte black, and with matte colors, you should know that there slightly hard to really hard to blend and get that nice gradient look. Lucifer can be quite difficult to blend, but the trick to this eyeshadow, is to have a really good brush on hand, something super soft and dense, otherwise you come out with something kinda splotchy/uneven looking.
Fallout?
Most of the eyeshadows don’t have any fallout, even the ones with glitter, but there is one exception though, and it’s the black eyeshadow (Lucifer). The fallout for Lucifer isn’t bad but it’s still there. It is typical for a matte black (or any kind of black) eyeshadow to have fallout.
Creasing or Fading?
With anybody with oily eyelids and the lack of an eyeshadow primer, any eyeshadow will crease. So a use of a primer is highly recommended. Wearing any eyeshadow from this palette, the eyeshadows do a good job of not fading throughout out the day without a primer.
Staying Power?
The staying power on these eyeshadows is really nice and last though out the day, but it doesn’t matter how the pigmentation lasts if your eyeshadow creases, so again add a primer (I must sound like a broken record lol).
Other?
The 2 double-ended brushes that come in this palette are actually quite good to use. The bristles are soft and a decent size. I also like that it’s a flat brush, so you can use it to create a lining brush with the shadows provided, it also good to apply color to the lower lash line as well. The downfall is it won’t do anything for crease work.
The cream shadow in this palette is good as a base color, but if you have oily lids make sure you use a primer before hand to prevent unwanted creasing.
Bottom Line …
Good quality. Great price. I recommend 8)
